1. Global warming does not mean every year is going to be warmer from the next. It means that there is a warming trend. The climate is complicated, and it depends on a lot of factors when it comes to how hot a particular year is. El Nino/El Nina for example… Sun spots for example… Anyways saying 2001 was cooler than 1998 says nothing except that the earth is working as predicted…
2. Polar bears have not increased in numbers.. That misconception is based on lack of data. There has been a lot more study on the polar bears, and as a result, we are aware of much more of the population than before. Some people take counts of decades ago and compare them to todays.. That is not an accurate way to determine population, and it’s not the first time it has been done. It’s really not hard to see polar bears struggling. I have read many articles from biologists that actually study this first hand. The problem is misconceptions based on bad assumptions. Fall of the western world…

Global warming is a tax on business, nothing else. We have plenty of REAL problems though if you libs ever want to help like the war on terror, supporting our troops, being fair to those of differing opinion, and good critical thinking.

Global warming is complex, and it doesn’t mean that it will get hotter everywhere. Global warming will of course increase temperatures in some places in the world, but due to changes in temperature, ocean currents will f.ex be effected. And since ocean currents play a big role in weather, it will get colder and it will rain more in some places.
Plus, global warming is not only based on computer models, take a trip to Greenland or whatever and see for yourself how the ice is melting, if you don’t trust other people.
And polar bears are sadly facing extinction, don’t know where you got that from.

There is no harm coming from the mild increase in temperatures over the last 100 years. Now if it got cold I would get worried in a big hurry because it would mean millions of starving people looking for food and a warmer place to live. All the barbarian invasions happened during cold periods, not warm periods. 150 years ago when the world was at what the AGW believers thought was a good climate range we were actually in an unusual cold period scientifically know as the Dalton solar minimum.
Stop for a minute and realize that the baseline temperature we have warmed from was people skating on ice in the spring on the Delaware and Hudson rivers. Our current global average for the last 200 years is over 1ºc colder than the same average for the last 2,000 years. Well it is even hard to call what we have had so far is really warming or recovery from the extreme cold of the little ice age. Since then the world has warmed a whole .7ºc average, which is about 1ºf., this means that if a day in 1850 was 88ºF by 2008 it had increased to 89ºF. It certainly has not gotten very hot this time around. This optimum is about as mild as the 1600 warming, defiantly not as hot as the 1400 or 1800 ones were. So claiming the small degree of warming we have had coming out of the Dalton solar minimum is something to be worried about shows an extreme lack of basic knowledge about climate processes and how they function.

Great question – it’s a hypothisis in the 70’s they thought we were headed for an ice age. The sad thing is that people think so highly of themselves that they are the cause of global warming – and they can stop it. At some point in time the earth’s core will cool and the sun will cool and the surface of the earth will no longer be as it is – not a thing we can do about it.
But to those of you who consider it fact that global warming is occurring. The glaciers will melt by 2030, and overall environmentally significant areas should be protected – why were you not shouting that New Orleans should NOT be rebuilt. You have sentenced the inhabitants to death or at a minimum the loss of their livelihood and home.
The city is continually pumping itself because it is in a bowl below sea level. Ironically, pumping the ground water out of the city (that seeps into the channels) is actually further lowering the city below sea level. So therefore with melting glaciers the seas will rise and New Orleans will be underwater. Not to mention it’s the most environmentally sensitive area at the mouth of the Mississippi and the levees throughout the river are not allowing sediment to be transported to the Gulf of Mexico to build up the barrier islands which not only protect New Orleans but the shores along the state Mississippi. Be consistent – if you believe all the liberal agenda then start shouting to get people out of New Orleans.

And who tells you that the computer models are flawed?! The people that are doing their utmost to sway public opinion to protect their profits (ie EXXON and their $2 billion a day revenue - more than an entire years climate science funding. FOLLOW THE MONEY!!).
The eight warmest years on record occurred since 1998. FACT. So much for cooling since 2001. You are utterly ignorant.
The cooling that took place in the 60s and 70s is also explained by soot output from dirty coal fired power stations.

Temperatures today are warmer than the much misused Medieval Warm Period. Volcanoes only put out about 0.8% of the CO2 liberated by the human burning of fossil fuels. The Sun’s output IS NOT increasing. PERIOD. People like James E quote sites that have NO SCIENTIFIC credibility or prestige. They only prove one thing; many Americans are utterly ****ed up. This isn’t a leftist issue, it’s an issue that affects everyone.
Carbon Dioxide levels have risen 20% in the last 50 years. Carbon Dioxide is a greenhouse gas. Burning fossil fuels liberates CO2. Not hard to work out what’s going on. A proportion of the US population is in denial. The Jasons, a bunch of egghead scientists were commissioned by the Reagan administration in the 80s to study future climate change and they came to virtually the same findings as the IPCC 20 years later. Reagan shut them up.
