amour2vivant asked: Can someone please help me research/understand how continental drift can contribute to global warming? I’m looking for NATURAL causes of global warming that are relative to plate tectonics.
Can sea floor spreading contribute?
Can the change in ocean currents from the movement of continents contribute to global warming?
Can mountain ranges created from continental drift contribute in anyway to global warming?

truckers strike asked: As you can see I’m not a global warming (end of the earth) denier. I simply wish our course of actions could be carried out more swiftly than anticipated in order that there might be more life left for innnocent creatures. And in order that the truely guilty receive fair compensation for their acts of pollution.

amour2vivant asked: I need evidence to back up that plate tectonics (continental drift) processes can cause global warming. I need to find plate tectonics forces that have nothing to do with humankind that is contributing to global warming. Much of what I have found is how plate tectonics can cause cooling of the earth rather than warming it. I need help researching this as I am not having much luck. I have found that ocean currents and volcanoes actually cool the earth rather than warming it.
Whether I believe humankind is causing global warming or not, is not important in this research.

aap1970 asked: I haven’t been able to find any credible sources on the history of the polar ice caps. But, I have heard that the polar ice caps have been free of ice many times in the history of the plant. Is this true? If this is true is this big global warming issue a little over blown because this would be just a natural cycle of the earth. If this has happend before, melting of the polar caps, what has happend in the past?

Hank M asked: Methane is a potent greenhouse gas (GHG) thought to be abundant in the deep ocean and in permafrost. Compare the global warming potential of methane to other GHG’s. What are the potential feedback implications of global warming with respect to these methane sources?
